Proposed Siting of Antennae on Rocky Point Road

Dear Mr Hird

We are newly arrived in Metchosin and chose this lovely place 
to live partly because of it's reputation for resisting commercial 
development and encroachment by the corporate industrial complex. e.g. You.

We don't live adjacent to the proposed site but we will have to pass 
it on our EVERY excursion into our local community. It will be an 
eyesore and a blot on the landscape, even if you paint it in shades of green.

So let's be absolutely clear about this. You gave very little 
thought to choosing this site - probably because you thought it 
would be easy to overwhelm the 'local yokels' and you jumped at 
the chance of a prominent position on a main road for easy access 
for your machinery. That's why you didn't bother too much about 
informing all of those in near proximity, even though you are 
corporately responsible-bound so to do.

Well, we find members of the Metchosin community to be the most 
intelligent, sophisticated and dare I say it caring people it 
has been our good fortune to meet. They do not deserve the 
machinations of an organization whose staff sound and behave to 
enquirers like petulant twelve year olds. 

So again let's be clear about this - you are selling HOT air. You 
have no given 'Right' to come into our community and build an 
industrial monstrosity in plain view without proper consultation.

Build it somewhere else, out of sight - at a distance from people 
that is not going to affect their well-being and upset their peace 
of mind. Until you know what that 'distance' is in practical terms 
you should err on the side of caution. 



In haste to catch the ridiculous paucity of 'consultation' time 
deadline.
